DURHAM 4, GEORGE BROWN 0

OSHAWA, Ont. - The Durham College men's soccer team had a bounce back win on Thursday night as they blanked the George Brown Huskies 4-0.

The Lords jump into third place in the OCAA east region standings with a 3-2-0 record, as they trail Algonquin (4-0-0) and Centennial (3-0-1), who both handed Durham losses earlier in the year. This was George Brown's first loss of the season, as they fall to 0-1-2.

International student Caio Reis Ramon of Brazil scored the first two goals of his OCAA career as he struck at the 19 and 70 minute marks. The mechanical engineering major received two great passes from his teammates, in which he would make no mistake as he showed a lot of finesse on his finishes.

Duncan Mitchell (Whitby, Ont.) and Sasa Vukoje (Etobicoke, Ont.) were the other goals scorers for Durham. Mitchell scored his second of the year off a penalty kick and Vukoje notched his third as he came in from the left side and drilled the ball off the far post and in.

This was the first time since the 2013 season opener that Durham has scored four goals in a conference game.

Kevin Collins (Cedar Valley, Ont.) stopped all five shots he faced in net for Durham, earning the cleansheet.

Up next for Durham is a match against Fleming at home on Thursday, Oct. 2. The Knights have been streaky this season with a 1-3-1 record.
