ST. CLAIR 1, NIAGARA 0

WINDSOR, Ont. - The St. Clair College men's varsity soccer team hosted the Niagara Knights on Saturday afternoon at the main campus field and came away with a tough 1-0 win. With the win the Saints improved their record to four wins and two ties on the season. Niagara fell to three wins and three losses with the defeat.

St. Clair dominated play for most of the first half with 16 shot attempts compared to only five for Niagara.

The Saints went up 1-0 in the 22nd minute on a nice volley by Brian Santos (Leamington, Ont.). The second half was much closer with both teams having seven attempts on goal but the Saints managed to keep the Knights off the scoreboard despite a late push from Niagara.

Kyle Vizirakis (Windsor, Ont.) was solid in net in picking up his second shutout and win in back-to-back matches. Jamar Kelly (Windsor, Ont.) had a great game on defence for the Saints.

The St. Clair men will conclude their regular season schedule on the road when they travel to the GTA area to take on the top ranked Sheridan Bruins and Humber Hawks next Saturday and Sunday. St. Clair is currently tied for second place with Humber and only two back of first place Sheridan. Sheridan is ranked ninth in Canada while Humber is ranked sixth in the country.
