DURHAM 2, FLEMING 0

OSHAWA, Ont. - The Durham College men's soccer team earned a hard fought 2-0 shutout victory over the Fleming Knights on Thursday night at Vaso's Field.

With the win, Durham (4-2-0) is one point away from locking up a home playoff spot in the first round of the OCAA playoffs. The Lords also have an outside shot at clinching a bye to the OCAA quarter-finals, if they can slip past Centennial (3-0-2) in the final week of the regular season.

Sasa Vukoje (Etobicoke, Ont.) scored the Lords' first goal of the game in the 38th minute, as he followed up on a rebound off his initial shot. Vukoje has four goals this season, moving into the top ten on the OCAA scoring charts.

Two minutes into injury time of the first half, Ivan Nimtsiv (Courtice, Ont.) headed in the ball while crashing the net to record his first career OCAA goal.

The two teams went scoreless over the final half of play, as the Lords' earned their second straight shutout win.

Shots ended up fairly even in the game with Durham holding a slight 7-6 advantage. Jonathan Codrington (Courtice, Ont.) stopped every Fleming shot to record the Lords' third shutout of the regular season.

Durham will hold their regular season finale on Saturday against the Cambrian Golden Shield. Kick-off at Vaso's Field is 3 p.m.
