DURHAM 2, CAMBRIAN 1

DURHAM 2, CAMBRIAN 1

OSHAWA, Ont. - The Durham College men's soccer team picked up their third straight win to close out the regular season as they earned a bye in the opening round of the OCAA playoffs.

The Lords close out the season with a 5-2-0 record and lead the third place Centennial Colts (3-1-2) by four points. The Colts only have one more game remaining to play, making it impossible to catch Durham and Algonquin. With a bye, Durham will host a cross-over quarter-final match in two weeks.

Caio Reis Ramon (Brazil) and Colin Reilly (Whitby, Ont.) were the goal scorers for Durham, as they scored at the 14 and 37 minute mark, respectively. Cambrian's Shawn Wilcox would cut the Durham lead in half, but that was all of the offence the Golden Shield could generate as Durham picked up the win.

Shots were relatively even with Durham slightly edging out Cambrian 6-5. Kevin Collins (Cedar Valley, Ont.) earned the win in goal for the green and gold.

With playoff implications on the line, the teams were giving it their all and combined for seven yellow cards.
