The Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Men's Soccer National Championship will be hosted by St. Clair College in 2023.
The Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA) institution will host the event in Windsor, Ont., from Nov. 8-11, 2023.
"Our host committee is excited to be a part of this celebrated tradition of hosting student-athletes at their highest level of competition," said Christina Gatto, Director, Athletics and Recreational Services at St. Clair. "We are dedicated to making it the very best CCAA Championship the community has seen to date."
All matches will take place at the newly built Acumen Stadium, a $26 million facility which opened in 2021. A unique feature to the new facility is a million-dollar professional digital scoreboard.
The tournament will feature eight teams from across Canada: conference champions from the Pacific Western Athletic Association (PACWEST), Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC), Manitoba Colleges Athletic Conference (MCAC), OCAA, Réseau du sport étudiant du Québec (RSEQ) and Atlantic Collegiate Athletic Association (ACAA) as well as a wildcard team and the host Saints.
"St. Clair College has hosted multiple OCAA and CCAA championships in recent years, including the highly successful 2021 CCAA Golf National Championships, so the host committee is well prepared and excited to welcome the best collegiate Men's Soccer teams in 2023," said David Munro, CCAA Men's Soccer Convenor. "With a new state-of-the-art facility that will enable players and teams to perform at their highest level, this will be a must-see CCAA Championship."
In addition to hosting CCAA Golf in 2021, the Saints hosted the 2016 CCAA Women's Basketball National Championship.
While St. Clair is still searching for its first ever CCAA medal in men's soccer, the OCAA as a conference has claimed eight of the last nine CCAA crowns in the sport.
St. Clair College acknowledges that it sits on the three fires confederacy's traditional territory of the Ojibwe, Odawa, and Potawatomi nations.
