DURHAM 9, LOYALIST 0 (FINAL)

BELLEVILLE, Ont. – Heading into the OCAA postseason, the Durham College women's soccer team made a big statement in their regular season finale on Wednesday night as they defeated the Loyalist Lancers 9-0.

Lords midfielder Jenn Sheehan led the Lords with four goals. This is the second time in as many weeks that Sheehan has had a four goal performance. Last week, she was named the OCAA women's soccer athlete of the week after scoring four goals against Centennial.

With nine goals in seven games this season, Sheehan finishes first in the OCAA east region scoring race.

Other goal scorers for Durham in the win over Loyalist included Kaela Stinchcombe-Brown, Alex Down, Tara Farias, Kenesha Stinchcombe-Brown and Kathryn Bean.

Melissa Linton was in goal as she recorded her fifth shutout of the season.

Durham finishes the year in third place in the OCAA east region with a 4-1-2 record, one point behind the Seneca Sting.

A trip to the OCAA championship final-four is on the line this Saturday as the Lords will travel to Fanshawe for a quarterfinal match-up.

The Lords have been eliminated by Fanshawe in the last two OCAA outdoor seasons. The Falcons eliminated Durham in 2010 in the quarterfinals and in 2009 in the gold medal game. Durham had a little bit of payback in the indoor season last year when they defeated Fanshawe in the semi-finals.
