HUMBER DROPS NATIONAL WOMEN'S SOCCER SEMIFINAL

CORNWALL, P.E.I. - The No. 4-seeded Humber College Hawks lost 3-1 to No. 5 Concordia of ACAC in a quarter-final at the 2012 CCAA Women's Soccer National Championship.

Brittany Szcerbakow gave Humber a short-lived 1-0 lead in the opening 20 minutes, but Concordia responded immediately on a goal by Lindsay Butler.

Erica Vecchio gave Concordia the lead for good in the 39th minute, and Butler added an insurance goal scored in the second half.

While Humber's dream of a national championship comes to a premature end, the Hawks will now move on to the bronze quarter-final match Thursday against host Holland. The match takes place 11:30 a.m. ET.
