ALGONQUIN 3, DURHAM 0

OTTAWA – Durham College had their winning streak snapped on Saturday afternoon as they were shutout 3-0 by the Algonquin Thunder in OCAA women's soccer action.

"The team played well for their second game in two days," said Durham head coach David Staley. "Playing their first game of the weekend, Algonquin definitely had more energy and the advantage. We'll have to work on our defense against set plays and get ready for Loyalist on Thursday."

In an evenly played match with possession equal, the game was determined by set plays. Algonquin scored off a corner kick at the 32nd minute, as well as two free kicks at the 55th and 63rd minute. The Lords had a number of scoring chances throughout the game, but failed to score for the first time this season.

The Lords fall to 1-1-0 in OCAA conference play while the Thunder improve to 2-0-0.

Durham will host Loyalist in their OCAA home opener on Thursday night at 6 p.m. at Vaso's Field.
