DURHAM 5, CAMBRIAN 1

OSHAWA, Ont. – Leanna Fomeko scored four goals on Saturday to lead the Durham College women's soccer team to a 5-1 victory over the Cambrian Golden Shield.

Fomenko (Courtice, Ont.) scored back-to-back goals six minutes apart in the first half, and two more in the second to give the striker her first career four goal game.

Kaela Stinchcombe-Brown (Toronto) scored Durham's other goal, as she got the Lords first goal of the contest at the nine minute mark. It was Stinchcombe-Brown's first goal of the season.

Durham's offence has been spread out this season as eight different players have scored goals in the Lords five victories. Fomenko and Megan Arsenault lead the Lords offence with five goals apiece.

Sarah Broderick and Alexandra Martinez split time in net for Durham, allowing one Cambrian goal five minutes into the second half.

Durham is 5-1-0 this season and are in a tie for second place in the OCAA East Region with the Seneca Sting (5-1-0). The Lords will travel to Scarborough on Wednesday night for a match against the Centennial Colts (2-3-1). Kick-off is at 4 p.m.
