SHERIDAN 6, REDEEMER 0

OAKVILLE, Ont. - While they were still finding ways to win games, the Sheridan Bruins women's soccer team (6-0 OCAA) had been suffering in a bit of a late September swoon, but got back on track with a 6-0 win over Redeemer.

"It's the performance we've been waiting three games for," head coach Paul Angelini said. "We were playing simple, easy balls into space, working hard to close people down, and then working even harder to get possession. We haven't had that kind of work ethic in three games."

Kendra Cooper scored the first two goals for the Lady Bruins with the first coming in the 13th minute and the second just five minutes later.

Kaylyn Mceathron, Kaysia Williams, Alyssa Teixeira and Katie Pipe would each add goals for the Double-Blue.

Lianne Slichter and Monica Pugilese combined for the clean sheet.

They now have a showdown with Humber on October 2 that will go a long way towards determining who will win the OCAA West Division regular season title and Angelini says their mental preparations will begin as soon as the players wake up on Sunday.

"We'll forget about all the games that have come before this one and won't be looking ahead to any more," he said. "We'll simply go out there and do the best we can to execute and play Sheridan soccer."
