SENECA 7, LOYALIST 0

The Seneca Sting sent the home crowd away happy once again as they notched their sixth win of the season through seven matches. The victim this time was the Loyalist Lancers who appeared overmatch from the first whistle.

A balanced attack helped propel the Sting to a lopsided 7-0 victory at Newnham Campus Field on a muggy night at Canada's largest college.

Stephanie Harris got the crowd into the match early as she notched her fifth goal of the season.  Harris knocked down a pass with her right foot and quickly fired a left footer into the bottom left corner of the goal, past a diving Sarah Paton.

Moments later in the 26th minute, Sonia Boucher would convert a rebound into the Loyalist net for a 2-0 Sting lead. Previously, Harris had rung a shot off the post before Boucher found the empty net.

Andrea Runco helped pad her team's lead in the 41st minute when she took a thru ball and converted into the open net for her fourth of the season. Seneca would add another goal by Samantha Macchione to make it 4-0 heading into the half.

The second half was similar to the first as Seneca continued to control the ball in the Lancers' side of half. Precise passing and excellent ball control helped the Sting control the pace of the match and generate numerous scoring opportunities.

Crystal Camilleri would make it 5-0 in the 67th minute before Andrea Runco put the home team up 6-0. Replacement keeper Taylor Hermiston did her best to keep the score respectable, but she was not able to stop Nicole Forbes on the final goal of the match. Hilda Chmait dribbled the ball down the side and passed it right onto the foot of Forbes who one-timed the shot into the Lancers' goal from in close.

The Seneca Sting (6-1-0) will finish the regular season October 9 at Durham (6-1-0) while Loyalist (1-3-3) will play host to Centennial (2-4-1) in their final regular season match on October 10.
