ST. LAWRENCE (K) 7, CAMBRIAN 0

SUDBURY, Ont. - Having made the six-hour drive the day before to Sudbury, the women's St. Lawrence College (SLC) soccer team faced the Cambrian College Golden Shield well rested and ready to play.

The Vikings entered the game just four points ahead of the 4-2 Golden Shield, knowing they were going to have to battle once again to earn an important victory to keep pace at the top of the East Division standings. Making the trip the day before, clearly paid off for SLC as they would go on to crush Cambrian, by a score of 7-0.

Sydney Midwood continues to add to her already successful season with three goals (11 for the season). Caitlyn Dunseath recorded two goals, Megan Hutcheson added one goal (giving her a total of four in the last two games), and Megan Simpson contributed one goal. The victory was also the fourth shutout for goalkeeper Nicole Gaudet.

With the victory, the Vikings move into second place in the Ontario Colleges Athletics Association with a record of 6-1-0 and 18 points, only one point behind first place Seneca College.

The Vikings next game takes place Friday, Oct. 4, in the final home game against the 1-5-0 George Brown College Huskies. Game time is 1:30 p.m.
