SIRIANNI TO LEAD SENECA WOMEN'S SOCCER

TORONTO - Seneca Athletics and Recreation is pleased to announce the hiring of Luca Sirianni as the new head coach of the Seneca Sting women's soccer indoor and outdoor teams.

As a Seneca soccer alumnus, Luca has an intrinsic knowledge of the outstanding competition at the OCAA and CCAA level and consequently, what it takes to be successful in the collegiate system. Luca suited up for the Sting in seven OCAA outdoor and indoor championships as well as the China-Seneca friendly series.

His leadership and soccer skills as a soccer player were exceptional and have translated to coaching where he began his coaching career with the North York Azzuri Hearts and later with the Aurora Stingers in the Ontario Women's Soccer League. Luca joined the Sting women's soccer coaching staff in 2010 under the tutelage of Seneca's long serving head coach, Vito Colangelo.

Director of sport and recreation, Linda Stapleton offered, "Luca is a coach with exceptional people skills and soccer coaching skills. We know there will be a smooth transition for our student-athletes and look forward to Luca leading the Sting to continued success."

The Sting open the regular season on Sept. 6 at Fleming as the team looks to defend their OCAA East Division championship.
