FANSHAWE 2, NIAGARA 1

WELLAND, Ont. - The Fanshawe Falcons women's soccer team won both of their games this week, defeating Conestoga and Niagara. The wins moved the women's soccer team up to third place in the OCAA west division standings.

On Thursday, Fanshawe hosted the Conestoga Condors at North London Soccer Field. The Condors were undefeated before they came to town but Fanshawe would not be intimidated by that.

Fanshawe was in control right from the start and after a goal in the 26th minute by Katie Parker, the Falcons never looked back. Parker scored again in the 27th, 44th and 50th minutes of the game.

Marisa Oliveira also scored in the 40th minute, as the Falcons handed the Condors their first loss of the season with a 5-0 victory.

On Saturday, the Falcons travelled to Niagara College to take on the Knights. Fanshawe won the game 2-1 with goals by Maddison Durr and Chelsea Brintnell.

Next up, the Falcons host the undefeated Sheridan Bruins on Saturday, Sept. 27. The game starts at 12 p.m.
