FANSHAWE 4, MOHAWK 0

ANCASTER, Ont. - Robert Mutambala-Mboko's second goal of the game in the 86th minute capped a brilliant comeback by the Fanshawe Falcons as they defeated the Mohawk Mountaineers 4-3 in OCAA men's soccer Saturday.

The win clinched post-season play for the Falcons.

Fanshawe was down 3-1, a minute into the second half, when Anthony Halm of Mohawk notched his second goal of the contest at the Redeemer Sports Complex in Ancaster, Ont.

But the visitors came storming back in a very entertaining contest. Anthony Caruso made it 3-2 in the 55th minute. Then six minutes later Brent Anderson got the tying goal. Play was very intense for the next 25 minutes before Mutambala-Mboko's winner for the Falcons, who finished the regular season 3-5. For the Mountaineers, who finished 0-6-2, Patryk Korbut scored and set up Halm's first goal, both in the opening half.

It was much easier for the Fanshawe women, who downed Mohawk 4-0 in a battle of two playoff-bound sides.

Marisa Oliveira and Stephanie Mitchell got first half goals for the Falcons, who then doubled their count in the second half on markers by Chelsea Brintnell and Katie Parker.

Cheriss Marson logged the shutout.

Fanshawe closed out their regular season at 5-1-2, while Mohawk was 3-4-1.
