MOHAWK 3, CONESTOGA 0

The Mohawk women's soccer team made it two straight wins defeating Conestoga 3-0 in Kitchener on Wednesday. The Condors dropped to 0-2.

Gabi Krebs (Brebeuf) scored two goals to pace the attack. Taylor Campbell (Glendale) got the other one. Laura Blackburn (Richmond Hill Langstaff) played 70 minutes and Elissa Bernacci (Bishop Tonnos) played 20, to share the shutout.

After a very slow and disorganized start, the team settled into its own rhythm about half way through the first half.

"Conestoga are a high pressure team. We needed to adapt," said Mohawk head coach Michael Castellani. "Once the ladies figured it out, we went up 3-0."

"The second half saw more rookies getting playing time. We played very well in the second half, controlling the rest of the game. Conestoga had one great chance in the second half, on a well played distance shot that Laura had to make a high diving save on. Well done overall," said Castellani.
