ST. CLAIR 13, REDEEMER 0

WINDSOR, Ont. - The St. Clair College varsity soccer teams opened up their OCAA regular season at home on Saturday as they faced the Redeemer University Royals from Ancaster.

A very young and rookie laden women's team women got off to a great start defeating the Royals 13-0. St. Clair opened the scoring in the second minute on a goal by Julia Albeartie and never looked back.

Cassandra Rose-Medeiros (London) led the way with four goals. Cassie Nicholas (Windsor), Albeartie (Belle River) and Leah Berenz (Belle River) each had two tallies. Singles were scored by Ryan Morneau (Windsor), Jaclyn French (Windsor) and Melanie Jubenville (Windsor). Tory Brown (Windsor) had a solid match in goal earning the clean sheet.

The Saints roster this year features 11 rookies, two transfers and only five returning players.

The St. Clair women play their next match home on Wednesday at 5 p.m. when they host the Lambton Lions at the Main Campus Field.
